Regular Quartz Upkeep is VERY Simple

Regular quartz upkeep is very simple using a soft cloth and warm soapy water. With quartz it is particularly important to avoid harsh chemicals as they can weaken the bonds between the resins and the quartz crystals. It is also best to avoid abrasive cleaners as they can dull the finish. A hint from Surface Savers, experts in countertop maintenence and repair; denatured alcohol in a spray bottle! Keep it under the sink and use it under the sink and it will be the only cleaner you will ever need. Always remember to keep the following chemicals away from your quartz countertops:

  • Bleach
  • Nail polish remover
  • Turpentine
  • Oven cleaner
  • Drain cleaner
  • Dishwasher rinsing agents

If these chemicals happen to spill on the countertop, rinse it off right away with mild detergent and water. While quartz countertops are stain resistant, they are not stain proof. Fruit juice, tea, or coffee not wiped up immediately could stain but can be removed with a baking soda and water paste. Just rub the paste gently into the stain with a soft cloth to lift the offending color away from the counter. Although quartz countertops are scratch resistant they are not scratch proof and need to be approached with common sense.
